The Brown Fetal Medicine Program regroups academic specialists from various Brown-affiliated hospitals and  Departments to address diagnosis and management of fetal conditions in a comprehensive and unified manner.Members of the Program in Fetal Medicine are clinically active and have various research interests. The Brown Fetal Medicine Initiative comprises the Fetal Treatment Program, a joint venture between The Alpert Medical School at Brown University, Women & Infants Hospital of Rhode Island and Lifespan (Hasbro Children's and Rhode Island Hospitals); a peer educational component, which includes the MADAM conference; and the Seminar in fetal medicine for medical students.

The Program is a founding member of the North American Fetal Therapy Netwok (NAFTNet.org), a voluntary association of medical centers in the United States and Canada established to help patients, parents and their families and allow colleagues in the field to collaborate with other fetal treatment units and participate in clinical research.
