Tutoring For Alpert Medical Students

Course Tutoring

The tutoring program provides assistance to medical students experiencing academic difficulties in any course in the Medical School. Any student currently enrolled in the Medical School is eligible for tutoring.

Students may refer themselves or be referred by their course leaders or advisor for tutoring by contacting Janice Viticonte Janice_Viticonte@brown.edu in the Office of Student Affairs at 401-863-1641.

Tutors will be identified by the Office of Student Affairs and made available to students for contact. The student is then responsible for making necessary arrangements. The student will notify the Office of Student Affairs of the name(s) of the tutors chosen for each course

The following procedures must be followed:

  1. The tutor must provide the Office of Student Affairs with his/her Social Security number and complete periodic student payroll reports.
  2. The initial contract for tutoring services will be six (6) hours; should additional time be needed, both the tutor and the student will contact the Office of Student Affairs for approval via email.

A student may sign up for a tutor anytime during a semester.
