Tutoring

The tutoring program provides assistance to medical students experiencing academic difficulties in any course in the Medical School. Any student currently enrolled in the Medical School is eligible for tutoring.
Students may refer themselves or be referred by their course leaders, an advisor or by members of the Office of Curriculum Affairs. Students should be proactive in discussing their needs with any and all of these individuals. Specific tutoring assignments are most often made in consultation with the Office of Curriculum Affairs (Dr. Richard Dollase).
Once a tutor has been identified, the student is responsible for making necessary arrangements. The student will notify the Office of Curriculum Affairs of the name(s) of the tutors chosen for each course.
The following procedures must be followed:

  1. The tutor must provide the Office of Student Affairs with his/her Social Security number and complete periodic student payroll reports. Please contact Cynthia Fenner (Cynthia_Fenner@brown.edu) located in Arnold Lab, 2nd floor to complete payroll enrollment.

A student may sign up for a tutor anytime during a semester.
