Information for Parents and Families
Parents and families of Alpert Medical School students and Program in Liberal Medical Education undergraduates are an integral part of the Brown medical community. Even after your student graduates from the Medical School, you will be connected with the place that gave your child his or her start in the noble profession of medicine.
We know your busy medical student may not always have time to fill you in on everything that's going on at school, so we've collected some must-have resources for medical parents.
In addition, there are also ways to become more involved as a Brown medical parent. A new program called HOST — Help Our Students Travel — is designed to connect Brown medical students with parent volunteers during the residency interview process. Coordinated by the Brown Medical Parent Programs office, HOST will grow the national network of the Brown medical community while reducing medical students' expenses as they travel around the country for residency interviews. Parent volunteers are asked to provide a student with a free place to stay during the interview process.
