Academic Enhancement Program

Academic Enhancement Program makes individual advising/coaching/tutoring sessions available to all medical students for the purposes of course preparation, licensing exam preparation, and other academic matters, including determining learning styles and goal setting. The Program for Academic Enhancement also hosts workshops regarding study skills, time management and balancing priorities while in medical school.

Phil Tetreault, a learning specialist and director of the Program, is available to design individual licensing exam plans with students and also facilitate accommodations for students with unique profiles. He is expert in test-taking and anxiety-reduction techniques as well as learning strategies. Support in these areas is available through individual sessions and small group presentations. Mr. Tetreault also works collaboratively with third- and fourth-year medical students who provide board-based licensing exam tutoring, and specialized strategy tutoring for courses.

USMLE Step 1 Preparation

  • Second-year class orientation for USMLE Step 1

  • Establishing plans and learning techniques to process information during clerkships

  • Time management and reinforcement strategies

Accommodations and Support for Unique Learning Profiles, Physical and Medical Conditions
