Fellowship Years:
Research Fellow Status
Often students find it desirable to take time off from their academic activities for a variety of professional and personal reasons. Medical students may take a leave from their formal studies to participate in research activities under faculty supervision for a designated period of up to two years. While on Fellow Status, students are authorized to use Brown University educational resources, such as the libraries and athletic facilities, and retain their Brown ID card. Students on Medical Fellow Status are certified as full-time students to agencies that might otherwise require repayment of their student loans. Contact Alexandra Morang, director of Medical Student Affairs, for further information at Alexandra_Morang@Brown.edu or (401) 863-1641.
