Curriculum

Ob/Gyn residents learn by caring for patients under the supervision of experienced faculty, through attendance at conferences, and through targeted opportunities, such as workshops in surgical and advanced obstetrical skills, and ultrasound and genetic amniocentesis courses.

Subspecialty rotations are a part of the required rotation curriculum, as are assignments at continuity clinics.

Residents participate in day and night teams when assigned to the Obstetrics rotation. The day team starts at approximately 6:00 a.m. and ends at approximately 6:00 p.m. The night team starts at 6:00 p.m. leaves at approximately 7:30 a.m. All residents rotate on the weekend (roughly one to two weekends per month) and holiday call schedule for 12 or 24 hour assignments.
