Subspecialty Programs: Stroke & Cerebrovascular Disease Program
The stroke service at Rhode Island Hospital provides diagnostic and treatment services for patients with acute stroke as well as primary and secondary prevention. It serves as a tertiary referral center for all of Rhode Island as well as southeastern Massachusetts. Facilities include a state-of-the-art carotid and transcranial ultrasound laboratory for non-invasive imaging of the cerebral vasculature.
