Curriculum

Upon completion of the PhD component of the program, students return to medical school to complete the clinical requirements for the MD degree.

MD/PhD students are provided with several options to continue their medical studies while fulfilling their PhD requirements. The medical curriculum components that may be completed during the PhD years include the longitudinal ambulatory clerkship and a modified family medicine clerkship that may be completed in a longitudinal manner over 6 months. Finally, the requirements for the MD years three and four may be reduced through the provision of medical elective credit for time spent in PhD research activities
