Visual Identity and Guidelines for Use Brown Medical School
Introduction

In 2001 Brown Medical School hired a design firm to develop a strong visual identity for the School and for the Division of Biology and Medicine. The identity developed was to be based on a look that was already emerging on Medical School and Division promotional materials.

When the University embarked on its own identity project in 2002, it was decided that the Brown Med identity would harmoniously incorporate certain elements of Brown's new visual identity to create a family resemblance while still strongly asserting a distinctive look for the Medical School and Division.

The Brown and Brown Medical School logos developed by the University (below) are to be used on all official Division and Medical School stationery, respectively.

The Brown Med and Brown BioMed word marks (below) may be used on all other collateral material, including brochures and other publications, posters, fliers, T-shirts, pins, mugs, Web sites, and so on.
