We provide a global calendar of bioethics events, resources on research ethics, and information about a range of topics in ethics… The Ethics and Health Initiative was launched by the World Health Organization in October 2002 both to provide a focal point for the examination of the ethical, social, and legal issues raised by activities throughout the organization, including the regional offices, and to develop global initiatives on a wide range of bioethics topics."
FHI, Family Health International - "FHI collaborates with developing country colleagues to develop educational materials, design communication-based interventions and implement training to enable health organizations to meet their program and research objectives… FHI strengthens programs in developing countries to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases and improve care for people with HIV/AIDS."
Fogarty International Research Bioethics Initiatives - Find summaries of the Global Forum for Bioethics in Research meetings at this site. "The Global Forum … brings together individuals involved in medical research in low- and middle-income nations to share views with each other and with organizations that support clinical research." At the 2001 meeting capacity building for ethics review in developing countries, and post-trial obligations to host countries were discussed. - Also find news items and bioethics funding opportunities at the NIH at this site.

Please review the features, policy and procedures of The IRB Forum before requesting membership… The IRB Forum is open to past and current members of Institutional Review Boards (IRB) or Research Ethics Committees (REC), IRB/REC administrators, individuals involved in IRB/REC oversight, and others with professional involvement in IRB/REC and/or research activities. Others will be admitted if their involvement in human subjects research will contribute to the discussion of issues pertinent to The IRB Forum. International participants are welcome. There is no membership fee."
