Funding Policy for International Students

Alpert Medical School is among a small number of medical schools that offers generous, need-based financial assistance to a limited number of international students each year. Awards generally are in the form of institutional loans and institutional scholarships sufficient to fully cover the assessed financial need. Support may be provided up to the full cost of attendance.

Since funding may be provided to only one or two students in each entering class, applicants for admission are required to provide documentation of the financial resources that they, their families, and other sponsors will be able to provide during medical school. This information is requested at the time that the applicant is invited for an interview with the Admissions Committee and is considered prior to issuance of an admissions decision.

International students who are enrolled in the Program in Liberal Medical Education (PLME) should be aware that if they are admitted to the College without financial aid, they generally will not be eligible for aid during the medical school years outside of exceptional circumstances.

Instructions for international student applications are found under Application Process.
