Criteria for HonorsHonors will be defined through assessing student's knowledge of cancer genetics and prevention and presentation at weekly case conference. Student's performance as relates to all dynamics of communication with patients and interest will also influence this assessment.

DescriptionStudents will learn basic principles of cancer genetics and apply these principles to the counsel of patients seeking assessment of cancer risk. Ethical, legal and social issues in genetic testing; understand of specific cancer syndromes; options for risk modification. Skills learned during this three-week session will have general applicability to medical genetics.
