Breast Imaging Fellowship Program

This one year fellowship will provide comprehensive training in all aspects of breast imaging, including screening and diagnostic mammography with digital breast tomosynthesis, breast ultrasound, MRI (1.5T and 3T), and interventional breast procedures including stereotactic, ultrasound-guided, and MRI-guided breast biopsy. Educational time will be divided equally between Rhode Island Hospital and Women and Infants Hospital, the major teaching affiliates of Brown University. High volume imaging in state-of-the-art departments will ensure in-depth experience in all aspects of breast imaging.

The Anne C. Pappas Breast Center of Rhode Island Hospital performs and interprets over 30,000 breast imaging examinations annually. Women and Infants Hospital, a dedicated women’s hospital with national reputation, performs over 19,000 breast imaging examinations annually. Fellows will have the opportunity to actively participate in multi-disciplinary breast tumor boards at both institutions. Opportunities also exist for research participation.

All fellows will have an academic appointment at Brown University which provides access to all of the university's diverse resources.

Providence, the capital of Rhode Island is conveniently located one hour from Boston, and three and one-half hours from New York city, and is a pleasant and affordable historic city in which to live.
