Use of the Brown Logo in Conjunction with Formal CME Activities
January 16, 2008

Formal continuing medical education (CME) activities are those activities for which AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM is awarded. CME activities include regularly scheduled conferences (e.g. grand rounds, M & M, etc.), live conferences (single or multi-day), enduring materials (e.g. newsletters, monographs, CD-ROM), and internet activities.

Use of the Warren Alpert Medical School name and/or logo is restricted to those CME activities and conferences that are directly or jointly sponsored by the medical school’s Office of Continuing Medical Education. Activities sponsored by the affiliated hospitals’ CME programs may not use the medical school name or logo or in any other way imply that the medical school is responsible for the educational content of the activity. Faculty who wish to use the medical school’s name or logo should contact the Office of CME at the earliest stage of the planning process for assistance with compliance with this policy as well as national accreditation policies and standards.
