RI AHEC Primary Care Mapping Project 2008"

In 2007 the RI AHEC Program Network initiated the "RI Primary Care Data Mapping Project" which is a geographic mapping reference system that provides a comprehensive examination of physicians and other identified health care providers throughout the State of Rhode Island.

The primary goal of the "RI Primary Care Data Mapping Project" is to create a broad informational report for the purpose of identifying the physician and nurse distributions in Rhode Island.

The documents to the right contain demographic, geographic, and specialty information on health care providers in Rhode Island communities. These documents are not intended to draw conclusions about the health profession supply and distribution. This project is intended to serve as a resource that encourages discussion by identifying data regarding healthcare in rural and medically underserved areas of Rhode Island.
