How to Get Here

Providence, Rhode Island's capital city, is ideally located with easy access to major east coast cities and desirable New England destinations. The city is just 50 miles from Boston and 200 from New York City, and is served by a downtown Amtrak station (approximately 1 mile from the Medical School) and a major airport (just 15 minutes away).

Alpert Medical School is located on the East Side of Providence, on the 143-acre campus of Brown University. Directions

By Plane

T. F. Green Airport is located about ten miles south of Providence. The most economical way of transportation to the campus is by shuttle (Airport Limousine Co.), which leaves the airport on the hour and arrives on campus about 15 minutes later.

By Bus

The Peter Pan bus terminal is located to the north of downtown and but offers many stops at Kennedy Plaza in downtown Providence. From there, you can either walk up College Street (about 10 to 15 minutes), or take a bus or cab to campus. The Greyhound bus terminal is located in Kennedy Plaza.

The RI Department of transportation is in the middle of moving the interchange of I-95 and I-195 in Providence. Please use Google maps for directions, and click on the link for the latest information about road openings and closings.
