Mission Statement
The Brown University Medical School General Psychiatry Residency is committed to training compassionate, dedicated, knowledgeable, and skilled leaders in psychiatry.
The faculty creates a challenging and supportive academic environment in which residents are able to identify their individual interests and skills. This individualized approach is coupled with a wide range of clinical and intellectual opportunities and the faculty's excellence and academic rigor in the current science and art of psychiatry. The richness of this training gives residents the preparation to become skilled clinicians, experienced educators and competent researchers. Graduates are able to provide compassionate, high quality and scientifically informed psychiatric care to their patients and serve as role models for other professionals.
