  1. What is the program application deadline?   We begin reviewing applications in September, and our first interview date occurs during the first week of November.   The deadline for full consideration of your application via ERAS is November 11th.  After our interview slots have been filled, we no longer read applications.
  2. Do you need to submit your application electronically?  Yes, we only accept applications submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service “ERAS” (www.aamc.org/eras).
  3. Do we offer pre-match or accept applications outside the Match system?   No, all of our positions will be filled through the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP).
  4. How many openings are being offered for the 2012-2013 academic year?  We anticipate accepting nine PGY-1 residents into the program.
  5. What is the cut-off point for date since medical school graduation?  We consider each application on an individual basis. However, length of time away from clinical practice is considered important (less than 5 years away is preferred).
  6. What type of information should be included in the personal statement?  We would like to know a bit about your interests, experiences, and goals.  It would be nice to know your reasons for choosing the field of psychiatry (both personal and professional).
  7. USMLE Step 1 Score Requirements?  We have no minimum score required, although a passing score is a must (first attempt passing score preferred).
  8. USMLE Step 2 Score Requirements?  You do not need your Step 2 CS on hand prior to be invited for an interview, but applicants should be scheduled to take or have taken Step 2 by interview day.  You must have passed Step 2 and have scores submitted through ERAS by January 31, prior to being ranked by our program. Passing scores on first attempt preferred.
